PLATFORM FOCUS ISSUES

My vision is to represent a constituency that believes in America and will fight for its freedoms.  Therefore, I will represent you on the following issues. 

 

SMALLER GOVERNMENT

 

Government is too big and powerful and is taking control of our lives.  For every new bill that is introduced, we should remove two current laws/regulations.  I will call for fiscal responsibility and restraint. 

 

FIRST AMENDMENT

 

I support the 1st amendment.  Government should not be able to control our beliefs and religious practices.  However, the church has a moral obligation to impact political leaders and policy through those we vote for. 

 

PARENTAL RIGHTS

 

I am a strong believer in parental rights and consent for their children.  No surgery or drug-altering medications should be allowed without parental consent. 

 

TRANSGENDER REASSIGNMENT 

 

Any doctor who surgically mutilates a child for transgender reassignment should lose their license to practice medicine in the state of Kansas.

 

PRO-LIFE

 

We should not delegate life and death issues to left-leaning government policy and law.  I am pro-life and believe that life starts at conception.  There are two extremes to this issue. Protect life at all costs regardless of how it was conceived or kill the child, even after birth. If there is an error in either extreme, I choose life, not death.  Which side do you choose? 

 

HIGH TAXES

 

Taxes are too high and too many.  Property and food taxes should be eliminated for Kansans.  A flat tax is the most equitable.  Kansas allows unelected appraisers to determine what taxes we pay.  This is taxation without representation.  Elected legislators should be held accountable for taxation policy and law.  

 

SECOND AMENDMENT

 

I support the 2nd amendment.  We should be able to buy and bear arms.

 

TERM LIMITS FOR POLITICIANS

  

Political office should not be for controlling power and a career.  Ten years should be the maximum number of years an elected official can serve as a representative of the people.  

 

LOBBYIST REFORM 

 

I will not take money from any lobbyist.  Elected officials should create laws and policies not lobbyists.   All lobbyists should be banned from the Senate and House floor and hearing rooms during congressional sessions. 

 

EDUCATION

 

Schools should not teach your children what values and cultural influences to embrace. A reevaluation of public education needs to be implemented.  It would be fair to allow parents the option of school choice that more closely represents their values.  School systems should be teaching basic life learning skills, i.e. math, reading, science, computer technology, and writing skills.  

 

CLOSED BORDER

 

An open border will destroy our American way of life.  I support a fully closed border.  A nation without borders will have a short and chaotic life.  All illegal aliens should be returned to their home country. I fully endorse and support legal immigration that strengthens America.  Vetted amnesty is acceptable, good, and necessary.

 

SENIOR CITIZEN TAX RELIEF

 

Do not abandon and throw away our senior citizens. Value them and the legacy they helped create.  I support the total elimination of state taxation on Social Security payments. 

 

VOTER ELECTION INTEGRITY

 

Your vote is significant and meaningful.  I support voter integrity through machine elimination and stronger mail-in ballot laws. I recommend photo ID.

 

TRANSGENDER SPORTS

 

Men and women are created differently.  I would ban all transgender sports participation with genders not of their genetic and birth sex identification. I do not want my granddaughters competing against men. 

 

COMMITTEE HEARINGS

 

Committee hearings should not be a place where good Health Care Freedom bills go to die. There must be meaningful interaction and transparency to create good policy and law. Let the legislature do its job and vote on the issues. 

 

PUBLIC SAFETY

 

We need a strong and supportive voice for our law enforcement.  The rule of law is necessary for a healthy society. There needs to be increased finances and support for the rank and file from prosecuting district attorney offices.  

 

REPUBLICAN PARTY PLATFORM

 

The Republican Party Platform represents solid values to live and govern by. I stand in agreement with the Republican Party Platform.   We must believe in it and let it move us to action that will implement positive change in our governmental structure, policies, law and culture.
